As we continued to grow and find the answers to the questions we seek, knowledge about biblical prosperity increased as well. It turns out we do not have to be sickly and hungry to please God. The truth is God wants to bless us with overwhelming abundance and prosperity.

So we ask, what then is God’s will for man about money and possessions? Many scripture verses allude to biblical prosperity. So here I stand claiming your promises; You are God and You cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) You make a way when no way is visible to us, (Joshua 2:10) And you empower me to produce wealth, (Deuteronomy 8:18) Beyond anything I could ever imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

So how do we get this ‘abundance’? Let us understand what it is exactly. What is the meaning of abundance? It is having an overflowing fullness or resources available to you. You will know you have abundance if you have more than what you perceive to be enough.

Take an empty glass on a table and let’s call it your life. You pour into it waters of favor and blessings until it touches the rim. Abundance is continuing to pour out this water until the glass is overrunning and leaking down the sides of the table. What you allow in will overflow outward. So if you need money, get some in your life first. You’re thinking, ‘This is absurd, I need money. How can I invest what I don’t even have?’

You are right. You don’t have the money you want in your life-yet. Walk this thought through with me. Abundance and prosperity as people understand it, is having the actual riches or possessions in your hand. What not enough people know that prosperity actually begins in your mind. So what do you do, begin thinking of yourself rich. Purpose your thoughts to what you aspire to be. Believe you are rich.

There has never been a poor man who thinks himself rich and works towards that goal– remain poor. Look up on some people who have made their financial mark in the world. They knew what they don’t have yet but did they did not stop there. They believed themselves wealthy and brought that vision in manifestation. If you don’t let circumstantial factors like the lack of education, pedigree and support discourage you-prosperity will come for you.

A wise man once said, ‘If you can believe it, it can be done.’ Strong words for some, but it still rings true today. Abundance means peace and freedom- and you can have it today.

Not everyone realizes that being rich begins in your mind. So start by putting thoughts of prosperity in your head. Realign your mindset to what you want to become. See yourself rich-and believe it.

I have never seen a poor man with a rich mindset remain poor. In fact, look up on some of the world’s billionaires and you will find many climbed up the ladder of success because they had a vision of what they want to be-or more to the point, who they believed they ought to be. If you see this clearly, unclouded by circumstantial factors like education, background and differing opinions; then no one cannot stop overflowing prosperity from pursuing you.
